  • Different sermon types are explored and selected in accordance with the relevance of the context

  • Analyses and extra-biblical material is integrated into a clear and coherent sermon outline

  • Concepts of transmission and reception are considered in light of target audience and planned for accordingly

  • Audience engagement is monitored and necessary adjustments are made to maintain attention

  • Rapport is established with the audience through the use of verbal and non-verbal cues
